Defect? – Tempest Clock

Defect?

(für Deutsch hier klicken)

Dear Customer,

We have some bad news and some good news. The bad news is that we have found a manufacturer defect in about 1% of our clock bases causing them to be slighlty less than perfectly flat. And this may cause some wobble, like a chair with one leg a little too short. (Not acceptable for an invention that relies on gyroscope sensing)! The good news is that 99% of them are perfect and for the 1% that aren't we have a simple fix.

We have been working with our manufacturers and have isolated the issue causing that defect and it is fully solved in our next production run, however, thousands of units have already shipped into warehouses in the EU and US, and among them 1/100 may have this unfortunate imperfection (see below).

If you are among the unlucky few who got one of these defective units, please don't worry, the good news is that the fix is incredibly simple. You can do it at home yourself, or we can do it for you. (and we'll pay the shipping of course). The solution is simply to add rubber bumpers to the bottom. That's it. 100% fixed. See below.

If you don't have those around the house, we can send you some. If you can't or don't want to DIY, don't worry about that either, we'll do it for you - and pay the shipping too of course. It's our mistake and we feel terrible about it. But the good news is: we will take care of it. Please do not return your Tempest without giving us the chance to take care of you. Just email me!

Thank you. Sincerely.
Ashley
